I will work to promote tribal sovereignty. In these
times of economic hardship worsened by the policies of the Bush
Administration; the Federal government must partner with tribes
to improve access to health care, provide more educational opportunities,
and strengthen economic development efforts for Native American
tribes and Albuquerque Urban Indians.
We must address:
The high absenteeism rate in the Albuquerque Public Schools (APS).
The high rate of students below 2.0 grade average.
The high drop out rate.
When elected to Congress, I will monitor and address
the issue with the APS and the Native American tribal and Urban
Native American issues.
